3 exporting companies from Gatineau are finalists for the MercadOr Québec 2021 export gala

Export Outaouais is proud to announce the 3 companies from the region that will represent Gatineau at the prestigious MercadOr Québec 2021 gala : Circuiterie Fairfield, Groupe-conseil Baastel and Provance Technologies. They are among the 39 finalists in the running for this province-wide competition. The winners will be announced on November fourth at a virtuel gala.


Market diversification (less than $5 million)


This category recognizes the outstanding achievements of an exporting company that has diversified its markets over the past three years. Circuiterie Fairfield designs, manufactures and sells sound effects pedals that modify the sound of certain musical instruments. Primarily for export and B2B sales, the company’s products are sold in 15 countries in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania. In 2020, it experienced a sales increase of more than 25 % over 2019, demonstrating adaptability and strong resilience to continue to grow in international markets.

Market diversification (more than $5 million)


This category recognizes the outstanding achievements of an exporting company that has diversified its markets over the past three years. Founded in 1989, Groupe-conseil Baastel assists public and private organizations and institutions in more than 100 countries in the implementation of sustainable development projects. Over the past few years, the Gatineau-based company has developed partnerships and innovative strategies to support its international growth and acquire new clients. Today, 95 % of the SME’s services are provided internationally, mostly in developing countries.

Export leader (intermediate region) 


This category highlights the exceptional track record of a company that has particularly stood out in international markets through its exceptional and sustained growth over the years. Since 1997, Provance has built its reputation and the trust of its global clientele through reliable and innovative technologies and important strategic alliances, notably with Microsoft. The technology company now exports to more than 20 countries, accounting for more than 98 % of its sales.


From October 1 to November 12, 2021, finalists and other interested businesses will be able to take advantage of an exclusive smart networking platform, training and awareness webinars as well as a B2B meeting activity between finalists and partners. Commerce International Québec, the network of regional export promotion organizations (ORPEX), is proud to launch MercadOr Month with a conference by Louis Morissette under the theme of “the fear of failure.”

Tickets for the event, including access to the training sessions, the networking platform and the gala, are on sale for $75 for Quebec SMEs on the MercadOr Quebec website.
